Boston University has unveiled its new Joan and Edgar Booth Theatre & CFA Production Center. Located on the Boston University Charles River campus, it boasts state-of-the-art production facilities to match cross-discipline projects.
The main theatre has a capacity of 250, while the rest of the centre has 1,150sqm of workshop space, 278sqm of studio space and three classrooms. It will be used by students from the university’s School of Theatre.
The facility was designed Elkus Manfredi Architects with theatre and audio-video consultation from Auerbach Pollock Friedlander (APF).
“As an alumnus of the College of Fine Arts and a former member of the Dean’s Advisory Board, this project struck a personal note,” remarked APF president, Steven Friedlander.
Added APF project manager Don Guyton: “Our past experience with Elkus Manfredi allowed us to streamline the design process and meet the aggressive design schedule.”
