The successful candidate will have the ability to work in a high-pressured environment,
maintain a calm and professional demeanor at all times and take initiative. Reporting to the
Gallery Manager and Directors, you will be responsible for all Front of House duties,
exhibition support, image handling, press and social media.

Key Responsibilities:
– Answering the phones and welcoming visitors as the face of the gallery
– Updating online platforms (Artsy, Ocula, Artnet, etc)
– Social media & marketing
– Posting across all social media platforms
– Press outreach and gallery press and marketing strategy
– Maintaining and updating each artist’s press archive
– Website maintenance (adding new works, exhibitions, news, press)
– Filing images and obtaining installation images
– Updating the database
– Adding exhibition history to artworks
– Cataloguing images
– Updating all artist CVs and portfolios
– Library Management
– Keeping stock of all artist catalogues
– Keeping books storage well organized.
– Stationery and Supply Management
– Ordering stationery, office and kitchen supplies
– Providing administrative support to all gallery staff
– Arranging Fedex and couriers
– Managing gallery post
– Catalogue and client mail-outs
– Working on private views and events
– Planning client dinners, sourcing venues and locations
– Sending invitations and correlating lists
– Assisting with the set up and organisation of all gallery private views
– Managing Info and Press emails
– Ad hoc administration duties as required.

The successful candidate will have:

– MA in visual art or a related field
– Previous experience working in a commercial art gallery
– A professional and personable nature, a team player
– A knowledge and enthusiasm for contemporary art
– Exceptional customer service skills
– Excellent administration skills
– Computer skills using Mac and Microsoft suite of products, Photoshop and InDesign
– Excellent written and oral communication skills, preferably multilingual
– Superior organisational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities at once.

This is a full time position, working Tuesday-Saturday.
