Campaign and Endowed Gifts Associate

The Campaign and Endowed Gifts Associate works closely with the Vice President for Institutional Advancement to achieve the success in moving the Curtis Institute of Music’s centenary campaign from its current quiet phase, into a public phase, and to its ultimate financial and institutional goals by 2024.

The Associate will help with tasks across the fundraising process – sharing the goals of the campaign (coordinating written and video materials), helping to engage with donors and prospects (research, tracking, scheduling meetings, and reporting), and developing new gifts.

The Campaign and Endowed Gifts Associate reports to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement and works closely with the entire advancement team and cross-institutionally with communications and marketing professionals.

Campaign Communications

  • Participate in the development and production of a campaign case statement to be used during the quiet and public phases of the campaign.
  • Create and update content for the future campaign section of the website
  • Imagine and develop social media ideas that resonate with campaign goals

Donor research, cultivation, and stewardship

  • Develop and maintain a campaign tracking system for donors and prospects
  • Assist the Vice President for Institutional Advancement in imagining and executing on important cultivation and stewardship touchpoints for campaign donors
  • Draft, obtain approvals for, send, and record campaign-related correspondence for the President and CEO, the Vice President, and other relevant individuals
  • Draft proposals for major campaign gifts to individuals and foundations
  • Provide written annual reports to current endowment owners

Administrative duties

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement
  • Assist Senior Director of Development in booking and management of endowed and capital gifts


  • A minimum of 2 years of solid experience in a fundraising environment, preferably at an educational institution, museum, or professional performing arts institution.
  • A passion for and working knowledge of classical music preferred.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Writing samples will be requested in the hiring process.
  • Exceptional patron service and client retention abilities.
  • Capacity to manage up and down in a complex environment.
  • Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet simultaneous deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, creative, results-oriented, and capable of working a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a positive and collaborative demeanor.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 programs. Ability and willingness to learn other software programs as needed. Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge, or other Blackbaud software is a plus.
  • Schedule flexibility to occasionally work nights and weekends.
